FYI there is now a patch available for this game that makes it work on 3.55 fw . It is an update pkg for fw 3.50 upwards and makes the game playable to all the cfw fans out there.
Rename folder "BLUS30707" to "BLES01192" Swap original PARAM.SFO in "PS3_GAME" folder with one below. 3.55 PARAM.SFO http://www.mediafire.com/?j20h0vqvnnjz6p2 Install official update.PKG below from "Install Package Files" in XMB. UPDATE MX vs. ATV Alive - Version 01.01.pkg

(Basically this converts US version to EURO version and installing the .PKG gives you the official 3.50 EBOOT and DLC) Then run the game.
Have tested KM3.55, external, MM 02.00.01 Hope this helps someone......
